Planimetric map
This is an example of a Planimetric map. A planimetric map, by simple definition, is that of a simple line map, or a map that only presents horizontal position features. In other words, a Planimetric map can be liberally construed to be that of a road map or even a simple map map showing where drainage pipes are lain (of course these would, generally, still include street labels, but not much more as well). The URL for the map at the left is:
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/texas/austin_1985.jpg, and is a 1985 "street" map of Austin, Texas.
